A calm Qur'an companion.
Mishk is a premium iPhone app for prayer times, Qibla direction, Qur'an reading and recitation, and finding verses on a topic — all running on your device, with no analytics, no ads, and no login.
Currently in TestFlight. Mishk is preparing for App Store launch. If you're a tester, you should have received an invitation by email — install the TestFlight app from the App Store, open the invitation, and Mishk will appear.
What Mishk does
- Prayer times — five daily times computed locally using seven calculation methods (MWL, ISNA, Egypt, Makkah, Karachi, Tehran, Jafari) and Hanafi-aware Asr. Smart Adhan respects your iOS Calendar busy windows and Focus modes — the prayer call doesn't fire when iOS knows you're in a meeting, asleep, or driving. A live countdown to the next prayer, with an optional quiet heads-up before it; on Fridays Dhuhr becomes Jumu'ah, and an optional Tahajjud time marks the last third of the night. Live Activity for the next prayer on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
- Qur'an reader — full mushaf in Amiri Quran (Tanzil Uthmani Arabic text) with the Saheeh International English translation. Verse-by-verse recitation with practice controls — repeat a verse, slow it down — and offline downloads. Bookmarks and private notes per verse, font-size + Arabic-to-translation ratio controls, all synced to your own iCloud — never to our servers.
- Qibla — classic compass with approach haptics, plus an AR mode that anchors a marker in the direction of the Kaaba.
- Verse Finder — type a question, get the verses most directly related. An on-device Apple Core ML model finds them; your question never leaves your iPhone. Every result cites a verse. Questions the Qur'an doesn't address are explicitly refused, not guessed at.
- Themes — optional theme packs, including a deep black-and-gold night theme, recolor the whole app.
- Women's UX — menstruation pause silences prayer reminders gracefully when you toggle it on. Cycle data stays device-only by design, never synced to iCloud.
Privacy
Mishk has no account, no login, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs that phone home. The only data that leaves your device is what you explicitly opt into (iCloud sync for prayer log + bookmarks + notes), plus your subscription state through Apple's StoreKit. Full detail at the privacy page.
